I recently had the privilege to interview one of my dearest friends, Anne M. Molina, for the new 'Game Changers' section of the blog.
This new section will feature those individuals committed to making a difference in the world and impacting the lives of others.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to feature this amazing woman whom I've known for almost 8 years, and who has recently followed
her calling of becoming a business coach.
I was born and raised around Washington, DC, but moved to Miami 14 years ago. And I am a Business Coach.
What were you doing before becoming a business coach?
I have my Master’s Degree in Teaching and started as a teacher, then moved to a few educational software companies. I wore many hats from trainer, to sales support, to implementation director, project manager, product manager, and Vice President of Innovation.
Why or what inspired you to make a career/life change? Was the new path motivated by a particularly creative need or goal?
I sought out my true life fulfillment. I had no idea what it would be and felt quite lost. I knew I was educated, had strong skill sets, and solid work experience, but was unclear about what career path would provide fulfillment. I worked with a Career Coach in order to discover what fulfillment is, and I found that it is each person’s unique happiness/talent/ability given to others. Fulfillment is partially for oneself, and partially for others. My unique happiness is to contribute to others so that they reach the goal they want, which led me to Coaching as my new profession. Ultimately what is beautiful about fulfillment is that you must continue to work on your own unique happiness/talent/ability so that you are able to “be” for others too. They go hand-in- hand.
What drives you and/or what do you strongly believe in?
Making a difference for others.
What’s the most rewarding thing about your career?
Contributing to others so they grow to the goals they want.
What has been the most challenging?
Completely starting over requires that you plan financially and seek out new credentials or schooling, so ensuring that I had what was needed while you pursuing this new career path.
If you could go back, would you do anything differently?
Work with the Career Coach immediately upon leaving my last position.
Best advice you ever received or gave yourself?
If you’re not feeling alive in some area of life, then there is a blockage. It’s only ever “alive” or “not alive.”
What advice would you give other people thinking about or wanting to start their own business or make a life change?
Focus on asking yourself the right questions if you are going through the process of discovering your next chapter. I wrote a blog about this topic and invite you to check it out. http://www.annecoaching.com/#!5-Questions-to-Find-Professional-Fulfillment/cz1w/264BFD05-D91A-426D-8135-5CE47DE34CD3
What would you like to change about humanity and how can we do our part?
I would impact the individual to expand our collective humanity. I would teach people how to love and accept each other for all that we are and all that we are not.
What makes you do a happy dance?
Good food/desserts, hot tea, and my cats.
Sum up your philosophy in one word.
