As cheesy as it may sound, I'm a total sucker for the local food movement. What can I say, I love simple,
honest, seasonal fresh ingredients that come from local growers and farmers. What's there not too love!
So last night when my boyfriend took me to Boca, a cozy little restaurant in the cute Tampa neighborhood
of Hyde Park, I was thrilled and full of anticipation. I was excited and prepared to enjoy a beautiful, fresh
and delicious meal that I had heard so much about.
Mark and I had the Organic Spinach Salad and Blistered Shishito Peppers as a starter. They were both yummy
and best of all, you could taste the freshness. As a meal we shared the Brussels Sprout Hash and the Slow
Braised Short Rib which came with the most savory root vegetable mash I've ever tasted. I also enjoyed
The Ginger Pomberry Juice made of fresh strawberries, pomegranate and ginger. It was absolutely incredible.
Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert but were left with happy bellies.
The restaurant itself was very much to my liking. Much of it was made of sustainable materials, so it had a lot
of character. One of my favorite elements was the garden wall which is where they grow some of the herbs
and vegetable they use in their dishes. How could you not love that!
Overall, it was a fantastic experience! Definitely a place I would recommend and check out again. So if you
live or find yourself in Tampa, you're going to want to make a stop at Boca! Your taste buds will thank you!
